Top o’ the World Ma!

Screen shot 2013-07-01 at 10.36.35 AMBeing in first place on July 1 is not a typical occurrence for our Cleveland Indians.  But do you know who isn’t surprised?  Me and this guy, Bob Litten.

Unfortunately, the Tribe lost one if its all-time greatest fans this weekend.  A good man gone to a better place.  Bob loved the Tribe the way he loved life, with an unquenchable thirst and an insatiable passion. So it is only fitting that the Indians take hold of first place in his honor.

And the good news?  He left a throng of fans behind who will all now cheer a little longer and a little louder in Bob’s memory.  His beautiful wife Jo… his beautiful children, John, Dominic, Milly, Billy, Charlie and Joey… his brother BIlly… his brother’s in law and cousins, Charlie, Leo, Joey… his adoring grandchildren, Josh and Brendan and Amelia and Grace and Emma… And me, of course.

And though Bob is now traveling on a much higher road than the rest of us, I am certain he is still cheering for all us to keep the bus chugging along on the Road to 90!

44 down, 46 to go… let’s do this!

Dark and silent late last night
I think I might have heard the highway calling
Geese in flight and dogs that bite
Signs that might be omens say I’m going, going
I’m goin’ to Carolina in my mind
