Memo to Cleveland Indians: We’re Not Done Yet.

There is nothing you can say, no chops you can lick, no wounds you can poke that will be more hurtful than what I am seeing on the field right now.  So save it for someone who doesn’t care.

Forget the Dolan family.  They are clowns.  They care about baseball the way the Lerners care about football.  It’s all about making money.  They are the Mitt Romneys of professional sports.

And forget about the sportswriters.  They are more fickle than the casual fans.  It’s like riding an elevator with crossed wires… up and down, up and down.  We love the Indians!  We hate the Indians!  The Tribe is awesome!  The Tribe sucks!  Geez, stand for something already.

But what about the team?  What in the name of all that is good and sacred is happening with the team?  It’s almost as if they’ve given up.

The Chicago Tribune – HOME OF THE BLACK SOX – called the Indians weekend in Minnesota “disastrous”, exposing us as pretenders more than contenders.  I don’t even want to know what they are saying in Detroit.  Meanwhile the Plain Dullard – Terry Pluto – is calling for the release of Lowe and Damon.  Clearly somebody has invested heavily in a white flag manufacturing company.

Well, , I am not giving up.  As my dad always said, quitters never win and winners never quit.  I bought into this team 100% from day one and I am staying until the very last game.  I believe in this team.  They are all professionals and they have all proven the ability to win.  And now it is time to see if they believe in themselves.

Go Tribe.

50 down, 40 to go.  I believe.
