They Don’t Call it Hardball Because It’s Easy.

So, what did we learn this weekend?

Turns out the Tribe’s starting pitching is pretty darn good.  Turns out our hitting and our bullpen are not.

Or maybe it is just the first three games of the season and none of it really means what you think it means.

There were some serious disappointments (Chris Perez’s pitching and Shin Soo Choo’s hitting) and some pleasant surprises (Casey Kotchman’s defense and Carlos Santana’s dingers). But geez, it is just way too early to tell anything.

However, there is one thing you can learn from the opening series against the Blue Jays:  It is going to be a long, contentious season that will keep you on the edge of your seat pounding beers and dogs – and/or biting your nails.

Just the way I like it.

P.S. Did anyone besides me notice all the University of Toledo advertising at Tigers (Commercial Park) stadium?  What the hell is up with that?  Did Toledo secede from Ohio?
