You May Ask Yourself: Why is this Man Laughing?

It’s been a long time coming.  After months of rigging a lineup that would (but rarely did) work, the Cleveland Indians finally started a team last night that virtually mirrored its original lineup… the one that put the Indians in first place through the first two months of the season.  In fact, with the exception of Gomez on the mound and Fukudome in right field, it was the exact team that looked so good through April and May.

And they absolutely kicked the White Sox’s ass.

Yeah, Manny and I know it’s the end of the season and most teams are just calling it in.  And yeah, Manny and I know that at 77-78, the best the Indians can hope for is 84 wins and a second place finish.  And yeah, Manny and I know that the team had a shot at the brass ring and missed it.  But Manny and I also know  this team is next year’s odds-on favorite to go to and win the World Series.

Say what?!

The best young hitting, the best young pitching and the best young defense.

Are there better hitters, pitchers and defensive players out there?  Of course.  Is there a better TEAM of hitters, pitched and defensive players?  NO WAY.

So I am already making my call for 2012 season:  The Road to 100.

Believe it.
